eTop: Crypto Exchange Ranking

Best Crypto Trading Apps: 10 Exchange Apps Compared

Ten crypto exchange apps, one table. It lines up App Store and Google Play ratings, install counts, update dates, download size and the minimum iOS version for every exchange in the eTop ranking. Right now Binance scores highest (8.7 out of 10), Binance has the largest audience on Android (100M+ installs), and Bybit has the best App Store rating (4.87). All 10 apps are listed in the Ukrainian App Store and on Google Play. The score covers the apps only; security, fees and licensing are judged in the exchange ranking.

Hover a column header for a short explanation.
Ratings: the App Store figure is the Ukrainian storefront only, while Google Play shows one worldwide rating. Updated 4 Nov 2026, 09:02, then daily.
Google Play installs are the lower bound of Google’s range (“10M+” means at least ten million).
Ukrainian means listed on the App Store page or confirmed by hand in the app. The App Store age rating is in the size tooltip.
Installed the app from the store? Enter the code when you sign up (click a code to copy it), or open an account with the button.
A bonus means a sign-up promotion exists, not an amount. Terms change, so check them on the exchange’s page.

How the app score works

The score is a weighted average of seven factors on a 0–10 scale. Every input is public store data, apart from the Ukrainian-language flag, which is a plain yes or no. There are no subjective ratings in it, and referral terms have no say in the order. Data is pulled once a day, so a score reflects the day of the last refresh. Hover over any score in the table to see its parts.

  • App Store rating (25%). The average rating in the Ukrainian storefront. So that a handful of reviews cannot count as much as tens of thousands, each rating is blended with the table average, using the median number of ratings in the table as the blending weight. Scale: 3.0 stars is 0 points, 5.0 is 10.
  • Google Play rating (25%). The same formula, calculated separately for Android with its own median.
  • Reach (15%). How many people actually use the app: ratings on the App Store (100 is 0 points, 100,000 or more is 10) and installs on Google Play (100,000 is 0, 100 million or more is 10), averaged.
  • Maintenance (15%). Full marks if the app was updated within 30 days. After that the score slides and reaches zero at 180 days without an update. Averaged across both stores.
  • Ukrainian language (10%). Yes is 10, no is 0. “Yes” means Ukrainian is listed on the App Store page or has been confirmed by hand in the app. eTop is built for Ukrainian readers, which is why the language counts here.
  • iOS compatibility (5%). The minimum iOS version: iOS 13 or older is 10 points, iOS 17 or newer is 0.
  • Size (5%). The download size on iPhone: up to 200 MB is 10 points, 1 GB or more is 0.

If a factor is missing, it is left out and the remaining weights are rescaled. Age rating, an exchange’s license, referral bonuses and codes do not count. Ties go to the exchange that ranks higher in the main ranking.

Limits. Store ratings can be gamed. The App Store gives the Ukrainian storefront’s rating while Google Play shows a single worldwide figure, so the two scales are not perfectly comparable. And the score says nothing about whether your funds are safe on an exchange; that is what the exchange ranking is for. The Ukrainian-language flag is checked by hand and can lag behind app updates.

How to download an exchange app safely

  • Use the store links under each exchange name in the table, or go through the exchange’s own website. Searching the store by name can surface lookalikes.
  • Check the publisher. The App Store publisher is listed under every exchange in the table.
  • Do not install APK files from websites, chats or ads. They skip the store’s review.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, not SMS.
  • Support staff will never ask for your codes or passwords. If someone does, it is a scam.

A good app rating does not mean your money is safe. For the risks of trading crypto, read the risk disclaimer.

Crypto trading apps: frequently asked questions

What is the best crypto trading app?

Binance is the best crypto trading app in this table right now, with 8.7 out of 10: the strongest mix of ratings, audience and upkeep. Binance has the biggest audience (100M+ installs on Android), and Bybit holds the top App Store rating (4.87). Keep in mind that “best” here means the best app. Security, fees and licensing are scored in the exchange ranking, and an app that leads this table can sit lower there.

Which crypto exchange app is best for beginners?

For a first exchange app, pick one that is well rated in both stores, updated recently and run by a licensed exchange; Binance fits that description best right now. Ratings in both stores come first: when one store is far behind the other (Gate.io is at 4.1 on the App Store and 3.24 on Google Play), look closer before you commit. Then check how recently the app was updated, because months of silence is a bad sign for something that handles money. Last, look past the app at the exchange itself: at the moment Bybit, BingX, KuCoin, OKX, WhiteBIT, Kraken, and Gate.io hold a MiCA license, and the others do not. Whatever you pick, read the exchange review before depositing anything.

How do I buy crypto in an exchange app for the first time?

Buying crypto in an exchange app takes five steps: install the app from the official store, register, verify your identity, fund the account and place the order. Verification is the step people underestimate. KuCoin and Bitget have required it from every new user since 2023, and BingX will not let you trade or use fiat features without it. Review times differ too: Bybit says about 15 minutes for most users, while Binance quotes up to 48 hours. To fund the account, look for “Buy crypto” or “Deposit” inside the app. You will usually see a card purchase, P2P trading and a plain crypto transfer; card quotes tend to carry a spread, so compare the price on the confirmation screen with the spot market before you tap confirm. The buy crypto guide compares card, bank transfer and P2P step by step. For a first trade, a small market order on a major pair is plenty; base spot fees are 0.1% / 0.1% (maker / taker) at 6 of the 10 exchanges here. Only deposit money you can afford to lose. This is not financial advice.

Which crypto trading app has the lowest fees?

MEXC has the lowest base spot fees of the 10 exchanges here, 0% / 0.05% (maker / taker), and the app makes no difference to that: the same account pays the same rate on the phone and on the website. Kraken is the most expensive at 0.40% / 0.80%, and everyone else falls in between. VIP tiers, fee-token discounts and futures rates are lower and are not shown here. The full comparison lives in the exchange ranking.

Binance app vs Bybit app: which one is better?

On the numbers in this table Binance comes out ahead, 8.7 to 8.6 out of 10, but the gap is small. Bybit has the better App Store rating (4.87 against 4.85) and Binance the better Google Play rating (4.79 against 4.7). Binance plays in another league on reach: 100M+ Android installs against 10M+. On iPhone, Binance is the heavier download (930 MB against 434 MB) and needs iOS 16.0 or later, where Bybit runs on iOS 15.0. The exchanges behind them differ more than the apps do: base spot fees are identical (0.1% / 0.1%), but the license column shows Bybit as MiCA (Austria) and Binance as No MiCA (EU).

What is the best crypto trading app for iPhone?

By App Store rating, Bybit (4.87 from 42.8K ratings), Binance (4.85 from 112K) and BingX (4.77) lead this table. Binance rests on far more ratings (112K), which makes its score the sturdiest of the three. Two practical details for iPhone owners: storage and iOS version. Downloads run from 204 MB (WhiteBIT) to 1,157 MB (Gate.io). The App Store figures here come from the Ukrainian storefront.

What is the best crypto trading app for Android?

Binance tops Google Play here with 4.79 from 4.8M ratings and 100M+ installs, which is a far larger sample than anything else in the table. Bybit (4.7), BingX (4.68), and Bitget (4.62) follow close behind. At the bottom, Kraken (3.7 against 4.37 on iPhone) and Gate.io (3.24 against 4.1 on iPhone) are rated well below their iPhone versions, which is worth a look at recent reviews before you install. Google Play shows one worldwide average, so these numbers describe all users, not one country.

How good are the OKX, MEXC, Bitget, Kraken and KuCoin apps?

The OKX, MEXC, Bitget, Kraken and KuCoin apps are solid but not top-of-table: scores run from 7.2 to 7.9 out of 10. OKX and MEXC land close together, 4.68 and 4.52 for OKX against 4.72 and 4.58 for MEXC (App Store, then Google Play). Bitget is the odd one out: its Google Play rating (4.62) is higher than its App Store rating (4.5), the reverse of every other app in the table. Kraken has the thinnest App Store sample (414 ratings) and a Google Play rating of 3.7 that trails its 4.37 on iPhone. Bitget has gone longest without an update, 14 days at most, still inside the 30-day window that earns full marks for maintenance.

Which crypto trading app has a demo mode?

Official demo-trading documentation exists for eight of the ten exchanges here. Binance offers spot and futures practice; Bybit covers spot and derivatives and starts you with 50,000 USDT; OKX adds margin and options. Bitget, MEXC, Gate.io (which calls it Testnet) and BingX (virtual VST tokens) run futures only, and WhiteBIT limits its demo tokens to one spot pair, DBTC/DUSDT. MEXC, Bitget and Gate.io describe how to open the demo mode from the Futures section of the mobile app, while WhiteBIT’s tokens are claimed on the web platform. Kraken and KuCoin are not among the eight, so check their help centers for what they currently offer. Demo money is virtual, which means it can never be withdrawn. Step-by-step instructions are in the FAQ of each exchange review.

Are crypto trading apps safe, and which exchanges are regulated?

A crypto trading app is only as safe as the exchange behind it, because the app is rarely the weak point; custody is. Two checks tell you more than any store rating: the exchange’s license and its track record. On licensing, Bybit, BingX, KuCoin, OKX, WhiteBIT, Kraken, and Gate.io appear in the ESMA register of MiCA-authorized crypto-asset service providers (checked 1 Nov 2026); the rest of the table does not. A license is not a deposit guarantee, though. On track record, every review has a Security Incident History block with one source per incident. The recent large ones are Bybit, which lost about $1.5B in February 2025 (the FBI attributes the theft to North Korea), Bitget, which reported unauthorized transfers from its hot wallets on 24 September 2026 (about $387.5M by its own count), and Binance, which estimated the impact of a security incident on 30 October 2026 at about $6.3B. Even big exchanges get hit, so keep on the exchange only what you are actively trading and move the rest to a wallet you control.

How do I download the Binance, Bybit or OKX app safely?

Install only from the App Store or Google Play, and get there through the exchange’s own website or the store links under each exchange name in the table. Check the publisher. On the App Store the Binance app is published by Binance Switzerland AG; Bybit’s is published by Bybit Fintech Limited; OKX’s is published by OKX Inc. A lookalike usually carries a different publisher name and far fewer reviews. Skip APK files from websites, Telegram channels and ads. They bypass the store’s review, which makes them the easiest way to slip in a fake app. Once you are logged in, turn on two-factor authentication through an authenticator app rather than SMS.

Why does the same crypto app have different ratings on the App Store and Google Play?

The same app gets different ratings because each store counts different users and different reviews. The App Store rating here is the Ukrainian storefront alone, and Google Play publishes a single worldwide average, so one is a local sample and the other a global one. The widest gap right now is Gate.io: 4.1 on the App Store against 3.24 on Google Play. That is why the table keeps the two ratings in separate columns and gives each its own weight in the score, instead of blending them into one figure.

How is the app score calculated, and how often is it updated?

Seven factors: App Store rating (25%), Google Play rating (25%), reach (15%), maintenance (15%), Ukrainian language (10%), minimum iOS version (5%) and download size (5%). Ratings with few reviews are pulled toward the table average, so a few hundred votes cannot outweigh a hundred thousand. Apart from the language flag, everything is public store data collected once a day: iOS from Apple’s iTunes Lookup API (Ukrainian storefront), Android from each app’s public Google Play page; the last refresh was 4 Nov 2026. If a store does not respond, the previous value stays in place. Referral bonuses have no say in the order. The formulas are written out in the methodology section above.
